On Her
Silver Rays
by Frances Billinghurst
Frances takes us on a journey of moon exploration, digging through historical references and worship practices of civilisations past, delving into the philosophy of the Greeks and the theories of ancient astronomers. There are so many wonderful snippets of information all presented in a fluid manner, making the historical section easy to understand. There were plenty of ‘wow! I didn’t know that!’ moments.
Every page is peppered with astronomical facts, prayers, magickal workings, manifestations, and ideas for journaling, there is plenty of scope for taking this information and building it into your own magickal practice.
Even the chapters dedicated to lunar phenomena and astronomical movements were extremely enlightening, and I did enjoy the craft projects dotted throughout – things like making moon water and your own sacred moon tree!
Exciting craft projects aside, my favourite chapters were those dedicated to moon rituals. There are so many beautiful ideas here that you can utilise in your own moon rites.
Overall, an enchanting book which will delight newcomers and seasoned practitioners of lunar workings alike, chock full of very possible piece of moon information you could ever desire.
